Outdoor recreation is the standard for vacations in the Lake Michigan area of the Great Lakes. There are endless opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors, including biking, hunting, camping, bird watching and water activities such as boating, fishing, scuba diving and swimming. The lake itself is enough of a reason to start your search for vacation rentals- as it is the largest freshwater lake within the United States, as well as the largest lake that is completely located within a single country. It is a sight to behold- and its’ 22,300 square miles makes it the fifth largest lake in all the world.

Lake Michigan vacationing is a pleasure regardless of whether you go during the summer season or the winter months- there are advantages to each of the seasons! In the fall, you can enjoy vibrant colors as the leaves change, and enjoy many festivals that celebrate the changing of seasons during the fall. There are several options for Lake Michigan vacation rentals. For the true outdoorsmen, camping might be your perfect choice, particularly in the warmer months. If you’re planning to stay in one of the many vacation rentals over the winter months, you’ll enjoy snowmobiling and skiing, as well as many of the indoor activities. Museums, wineries, casinos, zoos and planetariums make up some of the many indoor opportunities for recreation in Michigan, perfect for when the weather isn’t perfect or for the cold winter months. Lake Michigan is a family destination. Enjoy an afternoon in one of the many state parks, or enjoying the water’s edge. There are indoor and outdoor miniature golf centers, go-carts, water parks, amusement parks and several paintball opportunities.

Ludington: Known for being one of Lake Michigan’s popular beach towns, Ludington sits along the eastern shore. The vacation rentals of Ludington consist of full homes for rent, furnished apartments and condos, and the standard hotel rooms. While staying in Ludington, be sure to visit Historic One Pine Village, for signs, artifacts and archives of the area’s history.

Saugatuck: On the south eastern shore lies a small, rural community known as Saugatuck, known as the “Art Coast of Michigan”. It is here that students from The Art Institute of Chicago come each year to study on a lagoon. The areas incredible natural beauty has resulting in many artists taking up residence year round. Visiting Saugatuck is a pleasure and plenty of attractions to keep tourists entertained.

Manistique: The name reminds people of “magnificent”, and for a very good reason. Manistique is located on the upper peninsula and offers the community and tourists state parks, lighthouses, historical attractions, a boardwalk where hundreds of unique shops gather to sell their wares, and “Big Springs” in Palms Book State Park. Big Springs is the largest spring, and a site to behold. Be sure your Lake Michigan vacation rentals are within traveling distance to Big Springs, so you can enjoy the 10,000 gallons per minute gushing from limestone fissures underground. The springs are forty feet deep, and two hundred feet wide!

Regardless of where you decide to visit, you can enjoy outstanding accommodations and attractions to make you want to take every vacation in the area. Rustic cabins or high class, modern resorts, bed and breakfasts or camping- whatever your preference, Lake Michigan has it.

funny golf jokes one liners

November 30th, 2007 admin No comments

Have you ever noticed that the really funny stuffs that you can see on the really funny aprons out there are usually one-liners? The reason is that one-liners are the best types of jokes. They hit your funny bone with one or two punchlines and you remember them the best. Sometimes, you might remember the one-liners on funny aprons more than the recipes you should be memorizing and that means you won’t make it as a chef but you will make it as a stand-up joker.

That’s the problem with being a chef too nowadays – people don’t just want to be taught how to cook, they want their chefs to be comedians as well. And that’s a tough job requirement to impose on a chef who already has to work under a pressure cooker environment coming up with four dishes to cook at one time that all have to look great, taste great and are completely original. You can already hear the chefs out there whining “and you want me to be a comedian on top of all that? Come on!”

Yes, it’s true that being a chef is a hard job. And we shouldn’t blame them if they find it hard to be comedians at the same time. Sometimes, the best jokes are those that are unexpected, like when a chef forgets a dish is on the stove and accidentally burns it. At that point, your favorite chef might turn to his audience and say “maybe you should pretend you didn’t see that.” A great one-liner that all chefs should keep in stock, in case they ever burn a dish and ruin their reputations with one swift TV show episode.

Sometimes, one-liners can also bring down the spirits of even the most inspired chef. Like, imagine a judge tasting a new pizza made by a chef then telling the chef “you can’t seem to make up your mind whether you want to make a pizza or a sandwich.” Oh my word, how many chefs have been slain to the core by such one-liners. One-liners like that can really make a chef want to become a golf caddy instead – or at least find kinder judges to taste their work when necessary.

That’s where funny aprons come into the picture – the really funny stuffs placed on funny aprons (if they happen to be really funny stuff, that is) help the chef to feel better and lighten up the tense atmosphere created by too much steam from their cooking responsibilities and too much hype about the chef’s expertise. A chef who takes his crafts so seriously, that he would live or die by how his/her audience perceives his/her cooking, will either die of hypertension at an early age, or shame when he/she received disapproval on his/her cooking. For this reason, chefs have junior chefs on hand all the time, actually – they keep the chef from committing suicide when his dish fails to produce accolades. Did that sound like a one-liner to you?

golf history in america

The true origins of the game now called golf have been hotly debated over the years, as throughout history almost every civilisation has played some form of game with a club and a ball. Various competing ideas have been put forward as to its initial derivation and over the years there have been many different ways to play. Probably the one constant that is universally accepted, is that the original essence of the modern game can trace its origins back to the pastime of “gowf”, as played on the links lands of the East of Scotland long before the 15th Century, which has over time grown into the great game of “golf” as we currently know it.

It was around the seaside towns of Aberdeen, St. Andrews and Leith on the outskirts of Edinburgh, with their expanses of rolling sandy grounds, or links, which lie between the sea and the town, that a game resembling today’s golf really took hold and formed the discernable start of an evolutionary process which still continues right up to this day.

Since this time, there have been many changes within the game with the rules changing numerous times over the years (http://www.ruleshistory.com/ ), ever since the earliest surviving written rules created by the Gentlemen Golfers of Leith in March 1744. The balls have also been subject to developments, with the introduction at St Andrews, in 1848, of an inexpensive and more durable rubbery ball to replace the previously expensive and unpredictable feathery balls which would often not last even a one entire game.

Another significant milestone in golfing history was the creation in 1851 of the first purpose built golf course in Prestwick on the links of Monkton parish, followed soon after in 1860 by the first open championship on the same course. Since that time the game has spread right around the world from Europe to America and even through to China and Japan. The courses however still tend to imitate those earliest of Scottish creations, although American courses have leant towards longer fairways and softer greens. Competitions have also seen a massive growth in interest, following recent sponsorship deals and the introduction of televised coverage.

These days everyone seems to want to play. During the summer, courses become heavily used and parks throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK are filled with people knocking a ball about. There are purpose built golf courses all around the country, and there are specialist companies offering short golfing holidays (http://www.superbreak.com/search/golf-breaks.htm ) who are now tapping in to the desire to play on some of the world’s finest courses which are to be found in Britain.

Today the game of golf has significantly evolved from the primitive, haphazard and casual game it started out as, with the very earliest players initially having to carve their own clubs and balls from wood. Now modern casting methods mean that clubs can be made much stronger and more affordably making the game open to all who want to play, while research into synthetic and composite materials has lead to top end performance clubs using titanium heads and graphite shafts for those who can afford them. While most designers have sought to improve performance through subtle developments such as materials changes, other ingenious entrepreneurs have tried making clubs which contain a built in gyroscope or created a single reusable shaft and a selection of changeable screw in club heads, in order to out wit the rules.

Changes in ball design, official rules, the introduction of more competitive equipment produced by skilled craftsmen such as forged metal heads for niblick clubs which were prone to breakage, increases in the number of courses, and promotion by the media, have made what was a simple pastime in Scotland into a multimillion pound worldwide phenomenon.

Do not hit the golf ball consistently?

I'm having trouble hitting the ball so it will air and distance. Sometimes, I know what I did wrong (headed the ball did not look at the ball, etc), but sometime I feel like a perfect shot with my 9-iron and gets off the ground about 7 feet and is about 30 meters more roll.do know what I'm doing wrong? I am 12 years and I think swing at a moderate speed. I'm taking classes and sometimes the instructor has to do with me swing a couple of times to evaluate the error i am doing. Additional information. (If necessary): I am 5'2 "and have special clubs that fit perfectly and feel well. I have 3 and 5 TaylorMade woods and a driver Cleveland Launcher Gold. When I hit a good ball (approximately 75% of the time) that often goes straight and then right on track. Is this a cause of overswinging? or is it because I'm not hitting the Sweetspot. Usually the driver can hit about 215 meters. please help!

If the ball does not finish properly (swing the club all the way through so that at the end of the shot that faces the hole and the arms have been withdrawn from the club to his back) not get enough money to go the whole way. If I were you I also lining up a practice jersey (no ball), aiming, etc, and so turning you take a small piece of grass when you wack behind where the ball would be. Doing this helps keep the ball low so that when released, was hit steady shot is not too high. Incidentally, you mentioned the ball flies to the right. Do not worry about the Sweetspot "" until you're 30! The ball is probably too far back in your stance. Move your back foot closer to it (horizontal) and left foot forward. You do not want to cut the balls too Sooner or turn right (a common problem). You're lucky to have it all in 12. Practice!
