Is swimming a good exercise to get in shape for golf?

I love to golf, and want to get better, I know that spending time in the course is important, but also, spending some time getting in shape is important also since I walk the course. I swim, about 2000 yards 3-4 times a week, depending on how much I golf, I have never had any clear answer if this is good for my game, or could hurt my game. I dont enjoy weights, and am not a motivated runner. I was hoping that someone could give me some insight on this, thanks.

It’s an excellent way to get in shape for golf. Increases your endurance, strength and flexibility. You’ll want to add some additional stretching to your routine to cover all the muscle groups because, obviously, golf uses some different muscles.

How can I lose weight and increase fitness?

I'm an active person who has participated in many physical activities thoughout my life. Football cricket, golf, etc. However, I've been gaining weight in the last 7 or 8 years and I am unhappy with my physical shape weighing 15 º and has a BMI over 30 despite the effort they have put in to maintain my form I've never been able to return to a size where I feel comfortable, so here I am, asking for – the readers, How can I fit?

Many PGA tour players are now conditioned as well as athletes in other sports, it was not the case 25 years ago when fitness gurus such as Gary Player were considered unusual.

As players Golf enthusiasts find that using the same equipment that professionals do not translate into game and they do, it is difficult for most of us to maintain the commitment golf with our heroes' to fitness. But they have to spend 5 nights a week at the gym to make noticeable improvements in your fitness. A place easy to start: go for a walk.

We believe that hitting the ball with our arms and hands, so it may be tempting to build big muscles back and shoulders through weight training, but actually the legs supply the power to a golf swing. Just watch the fast leg action the knee of a professional golfer in the downswing. There are almost as taking a "" as it hit the ball. Taking a walk on a regular basis is a great way to build your legs. Note that said walk, not run. You do not have to go jogging, which can be stressful to the joints. After 6 months or so, or regular walks, you will realize that you do not get nearly as fatigued when you hit a few buckets of balls at the driving range.

You can start with a short walk, for example, 20 minutes or so, and build a longer distance. The key is to go for a walk so often as possible. If you have a dog, has built a personal trainer. Your dog will be happy to walk 3 times a day if I could. And it will go scold. Who can resist imploring eyes when he brings the belt and gives him a nudge toward the door?

Of course, walking was one of the original benefits of a round of golf. However, the advent of golf carts eliminated that (along with valuable summer employment for young people as caddies). Walking will help improve your golf game. Establish a program regular walking to improve their golf fitness and could even lose a few pounds.
