Netbook or laptop of my dad retire?

Bday my father comes over and is about to retire and have to give your laptop to work again. Will living in Florida during the winter to golf 24 / 7 and back in New Jersey for the summers. I can not decide what you like best and I want to be a surprise …. so I just wanted some suggestions :-) does not play computer games or watch movies. that really only use it for email or surfing the web. What would 63 year old loves golf and fly much you want? 10-inch netbook (with 160GB HD) or 15 inch laptop? Any suggestions or help would be great! thanks!
